Focus Areas

Therapy can help if any of these feel close to home.

Feeling Overwhelmed by Anxiety

You're caught in cycles of worry, your inner critic is loud, and it's starting to impact your work, sleep, or relationships. You're looking for practical ways to find calm and feel more in control.

Navigating a Life Transition

A career change, a new relationship, a loss, or another major life event has left you feeling lost or uncertain. You need a space to process what's happening and find your footing again.

Feeling Stuck or Unfulfilled

Life looks good "on paper," but you have a nagging sense that something is missing. You want to reconnect with your values, passions, and a deeper sense of purpose.

Seeking Healthier Relationships

You want to break old patterns, communicate more effectively, and build connections that feel supportive and genuinely nourishing.

Does This Sound Familiar?

You're not alone. Many people start their therapy journey from a similar place.

I feel like I'm doing everything right — good job, good friends — but I'm constantly on edge. The anxiety is always buzzing just beneath the surface, and it's exhausting.

A recent life change has left me feeling completely lost. My usual ways of coping aren't working anymore, and I'm not sure who I am without that part of my life.

I thought I'd be happier at this stage in my life. Everything looks good on paper, but I feel a persistent sense of being stuck and unfulfilled, and I don't know why.

A friendly, professional headshot of Daniel Cooper, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Toronto.

Hi, I'm Daniel.

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and I believe real change happens through real conversations. Whether you're wrestling with anxiety, navigating a transition, or feeling stuck, I'm here to meet you where you are.

My approach is warm, direct, and practical. We'll use proven, science-backed tools blended with your own wisdom to build a life that feels more like you.

✓ CRPO Registered ✓ Trained in ACT, CBT, IFS ✓ In-Person & Online Sessions

My Approach

Therapy should be as unique as you are. We'll find a way to work together that feels right for you.

Person-Centred Therapy

This is the foundation. You're the expert on your life. My job is to listen and create a safe, non-judgmental space for your story to unfold.

Acceptance & Commitment (ACT)

Instead of fighting difficult thoughts, we'll learn to make space for them while taking action towards what truly matters to you.

Cognitive-Behavioural (CBT)

A practical, skill-based way to help you identify and shift the unhelpful thought patterns that keep you feeling stuck.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

A compassionate way to understand the different "parts" of you — like your inner critic or anxious part — to foster harmony within.

Mindfulness & Somatic Tools

We'll gently turn our attention to the body's wisdom to help calm the nervous system and ground you in the present moment.

Spiritually-Integrated

If it feels right for you, we can explore how your personal spiritual beliefs or sense of meaning can be a profound resource for your healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes, I currently have availability for new clients. Book a free compatibility check to discuss your needs and find a time that works.

What happens in the first session?

Mainly, we talk. It's a dedicated space for you to share your story, what's bringing you to therapy, and what you hope for. Before we begin, we'll review confidentiality and what to expect — you'll never be surprised by the process. The goal is for you to leave feeling heard, with a clear sense of how we can work together.

How long will I be in therapy?

It's different for everyone. Some people find what they need in a few months; others find longer-term work more valuable for deeper patterns. We'll check in regularly to make sure our sessions stay on track with your goals.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Absolutely. For many people, online therapy is just as effective — and often more accessible. Sessions take place on a secure, PHIPA-compliant platform, so your privacy is always protected.

What's your cancellation policy?

Life happens. I ask for 24 hours' notice for cancellations (48 hours when possible). Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged. Note: email is for scheduling only — our real conversations happen in secure, confidential sessions.

What if we're not the right fit?

We'll check in regularly on your progress. If I'm not the right therapist for you, or your needs fall outside my scope, I'll help connect you with other resources or specialists. Your wellbeing comes first.
